Algarve Pro Racing finished eighth in LMP2 in the 88th 24 Hours of Le Mans (19-20 September) with the #25 ORECA 07 LMP2 of Simon Trummer, John Falb and Matt McMurry.
A sensational launch saw Trummer go from 15th to tenth on the first tour of Circuit de la Sarthe, and the Swiss racer held station until the first driver-change, successfully fending off the advancing #38 JOTA car.
The baton was passed to American Am Falb, who held his own against experienced professional drivers during a stellar double stint, which preceded a flawless drive by fellow countryman McMurry.
The night was littered with Safety Cars, slow zones and yellow flags, but Falb, Trummer and McMurry deployed class-leading pace and executed decisive overtakes during marathon stints, to propel Algarve Pro to ninth in class.
From there, the Portugal-based team was primarily concerned with consolidating its position, but it capitalised on incidents that occurred during a dramatic final hour to receive the chequered flag eighth in LMP2.
