Algarve Pro Racing: 88th 24 Hours of Le Mans 12-Hour Update

Algarve Pro Racing has completed half of the 88th 24 Hours of Le Mans with the #25 ORECA 07 LMP2 of Simon Trummer, John Falb and Matt McMurry, but the #16 G-Drive Racing by Algarve car succumbed to a persistent electrical issue late on Saturday (19 September) night.

The night began with consecutive Safety Cars, slow zones and yellow flags, and G-Drive Racing by Algarve’s fortunes took another turn for the worse when the #16 AURUS 01 ground to a halt with an electrical issue.

Oliver Jarvis successfully performed a full system reset and crawled back to the pits, where Algarve Pro Racing’s engineers were ready and waiting to find the root of the problem.

The ailing #16 car made fleeting appearances, but a dogged search for a fix proved futile and G-Drive Racing by Algarve was withdrawn on the approach to midnight.

However, the #25 ORECA 07 continued carrying the Algarve Pro flag into the early hours of Sunday morning.

Falb held his own while sharing the track with experienced Pro drivers, keeping a grip on 12th in LMP2 for much of his stint, before Trummer and McMurry both deployed class-leading pace during marathon drives through the night.
