Algarve Pro Racing is pleased to announce an exciting collaboration with luxury Swiss watchmaker, Kloc Uhrwerk, for the duration of the 2019 European Le Mans Series and the 87th edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
The new partnership amplifies the boutique watch brand’s presence in endurance sportscar racing, as the Kloc Uhrwerk logo will adorn Algarve Pro Racing’s ORECA 07 LMP2s for the remainder of 2019, starting with Round 2 of the 2019 ELMS – the 4 Hours of Monza (10-12 May).
Established five years ago by the Koppelmans family, Kloc Uhrwerk is a Dutch designed, Swiss-made watchmaker that produces high quality, affordable chronograph timepieces, inspired by the relentless pursuit of precision, endurance and excellence within motorsport.
First and foremost, Kloc Uhrwerk and Algarve Pro Racing’s affinity is based on a shared obsession with incredible mechanics, conveyed through finely tuned engines and equally state-of-the-art, meticulously honed Swiss movements.
Moreover, Kloc Uhrwerk’s uniquely sleek, no-nonsense Dutch designs reflect the streamlined bodywork found in the top flights of sportscar racing, emphasising the close and long-standing connection between endurance motorsport and luxury timepieces.
Kloc Uhrwerk Founder, Danny Koppelmans, said: “Racing against each other and the clock, Algarve Pro Racing embodies Kloc Uhrwerk DNA: endurance, timing, quality, innovation, emotion and performance. We are truly thrilled to be able to collaborate with such a prestigious team, with whom we share the same passion for endurance racing. Next to that, we both stand for expansion, growth, ambition and entrepreneurship, and that’s the foundation of a great partnership in this year’s European Le Mans Series and 24 Hours of Le Mans.”
The Portugal-based Algarve Pro Racing team is dedicated to providing a professional platform for the discerning driver to race alongside the elite in the most prestigious endurance sportscar racing arenas in Europe and Asia.
The Kloc Uhrwerk partnership will encompass five rounds of the ELMS at Monza, Barcelona, Silverstone, Spa and Portimao, as well as the 87th edition of the world’s greatest motor race – the 24 Hours of Le Mans at Circuit de la Sarthe in France (15-16 June).
In the ELMS, a pair of Algarve Pro-prepared ORECA 07s are piloted by six drivers; reigning ELMS Champion Andrea Pizzitola partners America’s John Falb and the South Africa-born Mark Patterson in the #25 entry, while US young gun James French is teamed with Sweden’s Henning Enqvist and South Korea’s Tacksung Kim in the #31 car.
Algarve Pro Racing Team Principal, Stewart Cox, said: “It’s a real pleasure to be announcing this new partnership with Kloc Uhrwerk as we gear up for the second instalment of the 2019 European Le Mans Series at Monza. There are multiple parallels between the worlds of motor racing and watchmaking, as Algarve Pro Racing operates in a sport where fractions of a second make the difference between winning and losing, and Kloc Uhrwerk shares our dedication to performance and precision. We’re proud to be able to offer a brand of Kloc Uhrwerk’s calibre with an exciting, high-visibility platform through our participation in the ELMS and at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, .”
